The region of Halkidiki in Central Macedonia constitutes the county with the same name. Geographically, it is divided in 4 areas, the central Halkdiki and the 3 peninsulas: Cassandra, Sithonia and Athos. Its 500 km coastline with the beautiful beaches, the crystal clear waters and the visual alternations in the landscape, make Halkidiki an ideal holiday destination for every visitor. The relatively easy access with a vehicle also contributes to this fact, due to its decent road network and the presence of many campings along the coast, where also beaches, capes, small ports and bays pop up one after the other.
Apart from its many, famous and beautiful beaches, Halkidiki is renowned for its nightlife. A big variety of crowded nightclubs, with Greek or foreign music along with smaller beach bars are offering their services all along the coastal region. In Cassandra, the most popular places include Kallithea, Chanioti, Pefkochori, in Sithonia is Sarti and Ouranoupolis in Athos.
